Last week, the community of Hudson Bay welcomed the Royal Saskatchewan Museum's travelling exhibit featuring Scotty the T. rex. A dinosaur skull found in Saskatchewan, Scotty will call the Hudson Bay Public Library home until the exhibit ends on Nov. 28. Scotty, who has been to Creighton, began his travels back in March of 2005 when he visited Japan. He has since been busy touring various Saskatchewan destinations. Museums and art galleries in Avonlea, Weyburn, Estevan, Humboldt, Lloydminster, Meadow Lake, Moosomin, Prince Albert and the Western Development Museums in Yorkton and Saskatoon have all featured this T. rex exhibit. It is an exciting year for the exhibit Ð this year is the 20th anniversary of the discovery of Scotty. Travelling exhibits provide an opportunity for the province's residents and visitors to see an exhibit that would not otherwise be located in their area. Since its early beginnings in 1906, The Royal Saskatchewan Museum has endeavoured to increase interest in and knowledge about Saskatchewan's history through its research, programs and exhibits.
