Jonathon Naylor Editor The Flin Flon School Board is expanding what has proven to be a cost-effective mode of transportation. Trustees voted Tuesday to purchase a third minibus at a cost of approximately $75,000. It is hoped the vehicle will arrive before Christmas. 'It's a money-saver,' said Superintendent Blaine Veitch, noting the minibusses are reducing the school division's bussing costs. The new minibus will be similar to the two 17-seat minibuses the board purchased two years ago. All three vehicles will be used to transport students both within the community _to educational presentations, for example _ and to other communities for sports and other extracurricular events. Veitch said the minibuses are expected to pay for themselves in about six years. He said previously that most of the division's travel does not require a full-size highway bus. One minibus can replace three minivans, he said.
