Saskatchewan's provincial parks officially open services for the summer season on the May long weekend. Saskatchewan's provincial parks are open year round, however most summer vacation services begin the Victoria Day long weekend. Saskatchewan has 34 provincial parks that offer a unique taste of Saskatchewan. Each park showcases specific natural or historic features and offers a range of recreational and educational opportunities. Each year, more than 2.3 million people visit Saskatchewan's provincial parks. "A park visit is a great way to enjoy our wealth of natural and cultural resources," Environment Minister David Forbes said. "This year, visitors will also find improved and more comfortable facilities." Several parks have new program centres to help provide interpretation and education to park visitors. There are also more electrified campsites and full-service campsites designed to accommodate RVs, new interpretive trails, as well as many other new or renovated facilities.
