Resurfacing a 16 km section of Highway 106 north of Smeaton is now underway. The improvement project on Highway 106 is taking place from 10 km north to 26 km north of its junction with Highway 55. The contractor on this project is Carmacks Enterprises Ltd. of Edmonton. This project is valued at $2.2 million and will employ 92 full-time workers. The public is advised that there will be an occasional disruption of traffic during the construction period. Other work in the Prince Albert area includes: Highway 2 ? resurfacing 12.7 km north of Wakaw (underway mid-August) Highway 11 ? resurfacing 9.2 km north of Duck Lake (complete) Highway 55 ? resurfacing 8.4 km east of Love (complete August 16) Highway 55 ? resurfacing 3.7 km north of Big River (complete) Highway 349 ? surfacing 14 km east of Naicam (complete). Remember to slow to 60 km/h when passing through the construction Orange Zone, and watch for construction workers, signs and heavy equipment.
