More recoveries, fewer active cases, nothing new reported in the far north. Saskatchewan's COVID-19 slowdown appears to be continuing.

Only one new COVID-19 case was announced by the province April 16, along with 14 more recoveries from the disease. Currently, only 82 active cases of COVID-19 are being considered active by the provincial government. That number is down almost by half from a week ago, when the province reported 160 active cases April 9.

The number of cases in the far north, which includes all Saskatchewan communities near Flin Flon, has remained at seven since April 13. Five of the cases are still considered active. The exact communities of origin for each case are not known.

Seven people province-wide are in hospital due to COVID-19. None of the seven are in intensive care. Four people have died in Saskatchewan due to COVID-19.

Just over 21,500 tests for COVID-19 have been processed in Saskatchewan.
