Elks Hall was the place to be Saturday afternoon for Christmas shoppers. The Third Annual Elks Home Business and Craft Sale attracted some 300 people despite the frigid temperatures. "It actually went really good," said Randy Hersikorn, secretary-treasurer of the Elks. Items for sale included blankets, baked goods, holiday crafts and books. A pair of local authors, Glenda Walker-Hobbs and The Reminder's own Gail Baker, were on hand to sell and sign copies of their books. Hersikorn estimated the Elks made just over $500 from the sale, money that will go toward the Elks and Royal Purple Fund for Children and general club expenses. Next week, the club will put together its Christmas hampers for needy people throughout the area. The hampers will be distributed on Dec. 18.
