Ruth Betts School held their monthly awards presentation last Friday, and Principal John Belfry used the occasion to commend everyone for their help in the annual Terry Fox Week activities. Activities held at the school during this special week were: Monday - The Silver Fox Fund, where students brought in their spare nickels, dimes and quarters, and put the change in cans. This continued throughout the week. Tuesday - A raffle got underway for a Terry Fox T-shirt, with tickets set at 50 cents each. Wednesday - The Terry Fox Hockey Shootout was held with a cost of 50 cents per shot. There were sports prizes available and Bomber goalies were in the nets for the shootout. Also, the Terry Fox Scramble-Obstacle Course was set up for grades 1 to 3, with a cost of 24 cents per student. Thursday - Popcorn day was held with the popcorn going for 50 cents a bag. Friday - The Ruth Betts Terry Fox Sportsware Draw was held, and the classroom winners were announced for the Silver collection. All the money raised during the week was donated to the Terry Fox Foundation, with a total of $583 raised.
