Locals will have their eyes to the skies in July, as the Canadian Forces Snowbirds return to the Flin Flon airport.
The Flin Flon Rotary Club is organizing an air show for summer 2018, after the 2016 event – a fundraiser for the new emergency room at the Flin Flon General Hospital –was a success.
The previous event, which featured a demonstration by the Snowbirds as well as an F-18 flyover, saw more than 4,500 people come out. While organization of next year’s event is still in its beginning stages, Bill Jackson, chair of the Rotary Club’s air show committee, said along with a Snowbirds demonstration, the committee is planning to have other military planes at the show, as well.
“The Rotary Club is proud to organize this air show, and we are planning on using this as a fundraiser for the new emergency ward at our local hospital,” said Jackson.
More details are expected to become available in the new year. The air show will take place at the Flin Flon Airport on July 11, 2018.
