The Mamawetan Churchill River Regional Health Authority ended the latest fiscal year in the black. Audited financial statements for the fiscal year ended March 31 show an operating surplus of $674,057. Seventy-five per cent of that will be applied to capital expenditures in 2012-13. The board of directors has also okayed the operating budget for 2012-13. Revenue and expenditures are balanced at $28,739,161. The board approved capital expenditures in the amount of $567,000, focusing on items related to patient safety and comfort, and also addressing improvements in information technology and infrastructure. The board plans to maintain the same level of programs and services, while achieving efficiency targets set by the Ministry of Health. In another matter, Mamawetan has changed its website address to www.mcrhealth.ca. The previous address will continue to work for an indefinite period of time.
