Copper Reef Mining Corporation released the results of its winter geophysics at Alberts Lake gold zone on May 17.

Copper Reef reports the purpose of the survey was to search for the extension of the known Alberts gold zone shear zone. The existing grid was extended north by another 12 lines and south by another 4 lines, and covered by a very low frequency electromagnetic (VLF EM) and magnetic survey at 12.5 intervals along the lines.

According to a release from Copper Reef, the area can be further explored with drilling. Additionally, other shear zones were outlined with characteristics similar to that of the Alberts gold zone. Higher grade zones occur within the lower-grade envelope.

These zones appear to be disconnected and variable in grade. Low grade mineralization is consistent along strike and down dip over large widths.

Further extension of the grid to the north and the west has been recommended – the grid will be extended to further outline the Alberts shear zone.

Copper Reef plans to begin line cutting the recommended grid extensions and complete a detailed mapping, prospecting and sampling program for the purpose of following up new areas for gold bearing shear zones. Additionally, sampling of rock outcrops of a nearby four-line VTEM cluster and VTEM target on the grid for volcanogenic massive sulphide style alteration will be completed to give credence to the cluster as a potential VMS drill target.
