Jonathon Naylor Editor A new report urges further exploration of mineral claims near the long-defunct Namew Lake mine. Junior miner Quantum Minerals Corp. has released a technical report, completed by geologist Garth Kirkham, on its Rocky Lake project. It provides an independent geological evaluation, a review of the 2010 and 2011 work conducted on the property, and the recommendation to further investigate the potential of the property as an economic mineral resource. Balraj Mann, president and CEO of Quantum, said the focus of the follow-up work should be on the high-grade massive sulphide bed identified as well as drilling on select targets from the 41 geophysics targets pinpointed. In a recent letter to shareholders, Mann said the following recommendations should be considered in a two-phase program for 2013-2014: detailed, refined targeting using the TITAN24 geophysical system; investigating targets through 2,500 metres of diamond drilling in eight holes followed by a phase II program of 3,500 metres in 11 holes; accurately surveying the drill holes utilizing a differential GPS; See 'Quality...' on pg. 14 Continued from pg. 11 Êcontinuation with and improvement of quality assurance and quality control procedures; and Êperforming a 3D modelling and GIS data compilation. In the spring of 2011, the Vancouver-based Quantum had a helicopter-borne geophysical survey performed over the Rocky Lake property. A total of 2,142 line-kilometres of geophysical data were acquired during the survey, the purpose of which was to identify potential targets for drilling and sources of mineralization. In late 2011 and early 2012, workers drilled nine holes. Mann said the exploration and drilling was successful at testing mineralization identified through geophysics. 'Based on the results, it is reasonable to assume that there could be potential for deposit scale mineralization,' he wrote in his letter to shareholders. 'The geophysics has shown to be an excellent exploration indicator, serving as a proof of concept for further exploration potential.' Quantum has retained and expanded the claims and licenses that comprise the property which covers a large number of exploration targets. The Rocky Lake Project comprises the contiguous Rocky Lake and Rocky-Namew properties totalling over 55,000 hectares. The project is located 65 kilometres south of Flin Flon off Highway 10. It is also 11 kilometres from the former Namew Lake nickel-copper mine. The mine, operated by HBMS (now Hudbay) closed in Oct. 1993, with decommissioning completed in early 1994. The TSX Venture Exchange has not reviewed and does not accept the responsibility for the adequacy or accuracy of information supplied by Quantum.
