Council reviewed the monthly fire chief’s report, which detailed the following incidents:
Sept. 4, 9:40 PM: A call was received from 911 stating a residential fire alarm was activated inside a home on Green Street. Upon arrival, firefighters determined the alarm was false. The on-call officer and 13 firefighters
responded.
Sept. 10, 8:35 AM: A call was received from 911 stating there was a chimney fire on Hapnot Street. Upon arrival, firefighters determined it was an oil furnace fire. The oil was shut off and the fire extinguished. The homeowner was advised not to use the furnace and to get it serviced. The fire chief and six firefighters responded.
Sept. 10, 5:30 PM: A call was received from 911 stating a residential fire alarm was activated on Queen Street. Upon arrival, firefighters determined the alarm was false. The fire chief and 11 firefighters responded.
Sept. 16, 1:49 PM: A call was received from 911 stating that on Dadson Row, a tree on top of some power lines was on fire. Upon arrival, firefighters contacted Manitoba Hydro to remove the branches touching the wire. This extinguished the fire. The fire chief and six firefighters responded.
Sept. 26, 12:30 AM: A call was received from 911 stating there was a fire on First Avenue. Upon arrival, firefighters found a fully involved vehicle. The fire, considered suspicious, was extinguished by the fire department. The on-call officer and 12 firefighters responded.
Sept. 26, 2:07 PM: A call was received from 911 stating a residential fire alarm was activated on Tweedsmuir Street. Upon arrival, firefighters determined the alarm was false. The on-call officer and nine firefighters responded.
Sept. 28, 7:28 PM: A call was received from 911 stating there was a fire in a vacant lot behind First Avenue. Upon arrival, firefighters found that a small fire in a camper trailer had been extinguished. The cause of the fire is considered suspicious. The on-call officer and 12 firefighters responded.
