Half of Flin Flonners are of the Protestant faith, according to the latest figures on religion from Statistics Canada. The data agency found that 50 per cent of people in Flin Flon, Manitoba and Flin Flon, Saskatchewan are Protestant, making that faith the most popular in the community. Catholicism was the second most popular, with 26 per cent of residents saying that was their faith. One-fifth of residents reported having no religious affiliation. The numbers in other religious affiliations are much smaller, with 2.1 per cent of people identifying themselves as Christian (n.i.e.); 0.2 per cent as Muslim; and 0.2 per cent as Buddhist. Other religions covered 0.3 per cent of the population. Statistics Canada found similar results in Creighton, where 47.3 per cent of the population was identified as Protestant. The agency found that 23 per cent of Creighton residents are Catholic; 3.2 per cent Christian (n.i.e.); 0.9 per cent Christian Orthodox; 0.6 per cent belong to other religions; and 25 per cent have no religious affiliation. Statistics Canada conducted its latest census in 2001.
