Need some school supplies for your kids this year? Got some extra items lying around that others could use? The Flin Flon Recycling Centre’s annual school supply program is underway.
Each year, the centre gathers up useable surplus school supplies, including paper, folders, notebooks, binders and other items, and makes them available through the program.
The program, which has been based out of the Flin Flon Public Library in the past, has been moved to the recycling centre for this year. Reusable school supplies and equipment can be picked up or donated at the centre by appointment.
“We get a lot of stuff that comes in that’s reusable and people could use for school supplies,” said Deb Odegaard, administrator for the recycling centre.
“This year, the library has their book sale in their room, so we couldn’t use that and we’re running it at the recycling centre.”
Appointments for the program can be made until August 28 between 9 a.m.-3 p.m. by calling (204) 687-6169. Anyone with school supplies that can be donated can also come to the centre with donations.
