RCMP searching for man who escaped custody in Pelican Narrows

Police seeking man who fled into woods on foot Tuesday morning, faces aggravated assault charge

RCMP in Pelican Narrows are looking for a man who escaped police custody Tuesday.

According to an Oct. 6 Saskatchewan RCMP news release, Pelican Narrows RCMP are looking for 24-year-old Barry Thomas, who was charged and arrested Oct. 5 with one count of aggravated assault. RCMP said Thomas was last seen by police Oct. 5 on McKay Street around 10:30 a.m. - police said he had "fled on foot and ran into a wooded area."

Thomas is described as about 5-foot-9 and 175 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. RCMP say Thomas was last seen wearing a grey-blue long-sleeved shirt, black shoes and camouflage pants.

"Pelican Narrows RCMP are actively searching for Thomas. If you see him, do not approach him," reads the RCMP news release.

Anyone with information about Thomas' whereabouts is asked to call Pelican Narrows RCMP at (306) 632-3300 or 9-1-1 in case of emergency, or to contact Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477.
