A condensed summary of calls to the Flin Flon RCMP for the period of Monday, June 22 to Sunday, June 28:

Monday, June 22:

• Report of damage to a vehicle on Creekside Drive. The vehicle was reported to a have a hole in the driver’s side window about the size of a bat.

Tuesday, June 23

• Report of a phone scam in which the caller states they work for Canada Revenue. The caller then says an arrest warrant will be issued if taxes are not paid in full. In this case, the caller said $3,800 was owed and to send the money in prepaid Visa cards. The victim did so and while on the phone providing the activation numbers, the caller requested another eight cards be purchased for $380 each. Visa is attempting to recoup the money.

• Report of a missing child who did not return home from school. The youth was located the next day. RCMP thank family members and the community for their assistance.

Wednesday, June 24

• Two intoxicated males observed stumbling along on Highway 10A. Both were arrested and lodged until sober.

• Report of threats to a truck driver because it was thought he had thrown stones at a vehicle that was behind him.

• Report of a disturbance on Hill Street. Police attended and an intoxicated male and female were arguing. The female decided to leave and went to a friend’s house for the night. The female later returned and continued to disturb the peace. She was arrested and lodged until sober.

Thursday, June 25

• Report of an unknown person attempting to break into vehicles on Green Street. Police attended and the person could not be located. No damage observed to any vehicles.

• Report of a domestic assault on North Avenue. A male was arrested and remanded into custody.

• Report of a dog attack on Centennial Crescent. A Manitoba Hydro meter reader was attacked while in the backyard of a residence. The animal control officer was called in to assist with the investigation.

• Report of a wallet that had been taken out of a delivery vehicle on Callinan Street. No suspects at this time.

• Report of an intoxicated male sniffing gas on Tamarack Drive. He was located and lodged until sober.

Friday, June 26

• Report of a fight on Scarth Street between two intoxicated males. Police attended the scene and investigation revealed the fight was consensual. 

• Report of a dispute between neighbours on Church Street. Police attempted to resolve the dispute twice before returning a third time, which resulted in a female spending the night in jail and charges being laid.

• A vehicle was observed travelling on Bellevue Avenue with the lights off. Investigation revealed the driver was impaired, but he was not over the legal limit and was issued a 24-hour suspension.

• Report of a domestic disturbance on Mainwaring Street. Nothing physical had occurred, but the female was scared due to the intoxication level of her partner.

Saturday, June 27

• Report of an intoxicated male banging on the window of a Third Avenue residence. He was arrested and lodged until sober.

• Police attended the Flin Flon General Hospital to assist with unruly, intoxicated patients. The patients became cooperative upon police arrival.

• Report from a local grocery store that a male had attempted to steal about $50 worth of meat. When he was confronted, he left the meat and ran away.

• Report of a domestic assault at Aspen Grove. An intoxicated male was arrested on scene and has been charged with assault.

Sunday, June 28

• Report of an assault on Adams Street. Investigation revealed a male had assaulted two females. He is facing two assault charges.

• Report of a missing youth. She was located the next day at a friend’s residence in Creighton.
