The New Year is starting out to be a busy one for the Flin Flon RCMP Detachment. In the past week six prisoners have been lodged due to being drunk in a public place, and no sober person to turn them over to. There have been three false alarms at a local business. Police have assisted Child and Family Services in two separate incidents in removing children from unsafe environments. Police have attended three noisy parties (having been invited by the neighbours - not the person holding the party). Police also attended to calls of wilful damage, harassment, utter threats, and three females were charged with assault. There were also numerous accidents and traffic complaints. We also held a recruiting seminar on January 17, 2005 at City Hall Council Chambers at 1:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Cst. Darrell McPherson from Winnipeg Staffing and Tod Christianson from the Forensic Lab both spoke to approximately 60 people of various ages about a career in the RCMP.
