The last several days have kept the local detachments busy with traffic accidents. The first snowfall of the year always tests people's driving skills. Remember to slow down and leave a greater distance between your vehicle and the one ahead. Give yourself plenty of time to get to your destination. There were numerous reports of garages being broken into in the uptown area as well as South Hudson. Make sure you have lighting in your yard or a motion sensor light. Secure garages and sheds. Do not leave garage doors open during the day as it advertises what you have. It is almost Halloween and a couple of youths have already been caught throwing eggs. This is not acceptable at Halloween or any other time of the year. It is considered to be vandalism, so parents, please talk to your children about it. 10/22/2004
