Submitted by RCMP Thompson On June 19, 2009, the RCMP Thompson Detachment received a report from the local Home Hardware Building Centre that they suspected an employee had been stealing from the company. In the course of the next several months, a forensic audit was completed which confirmed the owner's suspicions. An extensive investigation followed by the RCMP Thompson Detachment, with the assistance of the RCMP D Division Financial Integrity Unit, Major Crime Services and the RCMP St. John's Commercial Crime Unit in Newfoundland. It was uncovered that between 2004 and 2009, through various fraudulent means, a total of about $1.5 million was missing. Theresa Foley (43), who was a former office manager of the store at the time, relocated to St. John's, Newfoundland. On March 21, 2012, she was arrested by investigators in St. John's on a Canada wide warrant and returned to Manitoba. She faces a total of 98 Fraud related charges including Fraud over and under $5,000, Theft over $5,000 and numerous counts of Uttering Forged Documents and Falsifying Documents. She is currently in custody in Winnipeg and is scheduled to appear on April 5, 2012.
