A condensed summary of calls to the Flin Flon RCMP for the period of Monday, Jan. 18 to Sunday, Jan. 24, as provided by the RCMP:
Monday, Jan. 18
• A female attended the detachment to report a possible sexual assault. An investigation is ongoing.
Tuesday, Jan. 19
• Report of two locks cut off sheds at a residence. Nothing was taken.
• A caller reported a party playing loud music with a strong odour of
marijuana being smoked. Police attended and told the revellers to keep it down.
• Report of a possible impaired driver. The caller thought the driver was impaired because the caller could hear the suspect yelling before getting into the vehicle.
Wednesday, Jan. 20
• Report of a hit and run. A licence plate number was obtained. After the other driver was identified, both parties were spoken to and no charges are pending.
• A caller reported loud music being played from a residence all day. The call was made for information purposes should the noise continue past 11 pm.
Thursday, Jan. 21
• A person reported the side of a residence shot with a pellet gun by a neighbour. An investigation is ongoing.
• A false alarm was received from a Flin Flon business.
• A female reported witnessing a male who appeared to be defecating in a ditch. A description of the male was obtained, and photos were NOT taken. Police are on the lookout for the “phantom pooper.”
• Police received multiple calls of disturbances at an apartment building. Upon attending, police identified a male who was known to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest. The male was remanded in custody.
• Police received a report of a male passed out outside. Upon attending, police found a very intoxicated male who was taken to hospital because of concerns he had been exposed to the elements for an unknown amount of time. The male’s brother, who was also intoxicated, was also taken into custody.
Friday, Jan. 22
• Report of a male who left the Flin Flon hospital despite being admitted and needing treatment. The male was located a short time later and returned to the hospital.
• Report of a hit and run between two moving vehicles on Ross St.
• Report of a possible domestic at an upstairs apartment. Police attended and learned that the noises were coming from upstairs tenants who were trying to get the downstairs tenants’ attention. Clearly, they were successful.
Saturday, Jan. 23
• While on patrol, police observed a very intoxicated male attempting to make himself sick. Given the observed state of intoxication, the person was arrested and lodged under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act.
• Complaint of an erratic driver at a local campground. Police attended but were unsuccessful in locating the vehicle.
• Report of a situation at a local bar. Police attended and learned a male had been causing a disturbance, then assaulted bar staff with a weapon. The male was arrested and lodged. Charges are pending.
• Report of an intoxicated male pushing open his girlfriend’s door and starting an argument. The male left before police arrived. No charges were pursued.
Sunday, Jan. 24
• Report of a possible impaired driver. Upon arrival, police found the suspect vehicle parked.
• A traffic stop resulted in a male being arrested for impaired operation of a motor vehicle. The male provided breath samples 2.5 times the legal limit. Further investigation revealed the vehicle the male was driving was stolen. The man faces several charges and was remanded in custody.
• Report of a very intoxicated male hardly able to stand outside a main street business. Police attended and the male was arrested for his own safety.
• Report of a female passed out on the street near a local business. The female was taken to hospital and later cleared.
