RCMP arrest man for assault with fire extinguisher

A 19-year-old man from Denare Beach is facing charges after RCMP responded to an assault with a fire extinguisher.

On Jan. 22, Flin Flon RCMP responded to a report of an assault on an employee at a business on Hapnot Street. When officers arrived, they found a female employee who had been sprayed in the face with a fire extinguisher by a male who stole a bottle of liquor.

While RCMP were responding to that report, a second report was called in from a nearby business on Main Street. A female employee at that location was also sprayed in the face with a fire extinguisher by a male who stole cigarettes.

Neither victims were injured.

Officers arrested Darnell Custer at a residence in Flin Flon on the evening of Jan. 22. Custer is charged with two counts of robbery, two counts of assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, mischief, theft under $5,000, and six counts of failure to comply with probation.
