Flin Flon RCMP are investigating a rash of weekend break-ins involving stolen money and vandalized property. The most brazen of the crimes took place at the Flin Flon Community Hall, where one or more criminals pried open a door before entering three offices. An undisclosed amount of money was taken from the offices of the Bombers, Arts Council and Parks and Recreation, with the culprit or culprits even prying open a safe in search of cash. A break-in also took place at the former Flin Flon Hotel on Main St., where vandals broke windows and made a mess with a fire extinguisher. Police said there did not appear to be anything stolen from the Flin Flon Recycling Centre, but someone did break in through the front door. Police encourage anyone with information to phone them at 687-7488 or Manitoba Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
