Students and staff of Many Faces Education Centre held a car wash on Friday to raise money for yesterday's Terry Fox Run for cancer research. "Teacher Charlie Mott, a real important part of Many Faces, died of cancer," said teacher Clarence Pettersen. "We thought this would be a good way to help out for cancer research, and also recognize Charlie, who most of these students either had as a teacher or knew. We thought this was one way to help out the community and also raise awareness, and hopefully we can lick this thing with more research." Most of the students at the school helped out with the car wash in one form or another, whether it was making signs and posters, cooking hot dogs or washing the vehicles. A total of $845 was raised in Charlie's memory by the students and staff of Many Faces, which was donated to the Terry Fox Foundation at the Run on Sunday.
