Don't tell Mona Keyes that five dollars doesn't go very far these days. The Flin Flonner recently turned a single Sir Wilfrid Laurier into $7,750 playing Rotary Radio Bingo. "I was excited and very shocked," said Keyes, who took home the mini jackpot from the July 17 game. Keyes, a receptionist for Dr. Peter Kucparic's office, plans to "spend a little, save a little, and go on holidays somewhere nice." "I'm still kind of in awe," she said Friday as she waited for Rotarian Dave Kendall to present the cheque. A radio bingo player for the past 12 years, Keyes purchased her winning ticket at Super K Convenience. Her victory drops the big prize in Rotary Radio Bingo to $25,000, still a substantial prize. Heard on local radio in Flin Flon, Thompson and The Pas each Saturday morning, Rotary Radio Bingo has become an institution since hitting the airwaves in 1974. All profits garnered from the bingo are spent on community projects.
