CBC and SIRIUS, an American company known for delivering quality commercial-free music and entertainment to cars and homes throughout the U.S., have announced that they will form a joint venture to bring satellite radio to Canada. This new, subscription-based, national service will give Canadians access to a wide range of programming and Canadian content, said the CBC in a news release. The new venture also promises to provide opportunities for Canadian artists to showcase their talents and be heard not only across Canada, but throughout North America as well. No completion date for the venture has been set.
