Jonathon Naylor Editor You'll have a chance to pass on a greeting to the Queen. Manitoba's official diamond jubilee commemorative book, to be sent to Queen Elizabeth II, will be available for signing at Flin Flon City Hall next week. 'I don't think this has ever happened before in Flin Flon,' said Coun. Karen MacKinnon, who at Tuesday's council meeting announced the pending arrival of the book. The book will be available for anyone to sign at City Hall from 12-4 p.m. from next Tuesday to Friday. City Hall will also be open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the Saturday. The book has already spent months in the Manitoba Legislature to help mark the Queen's 60th anniversary on the throne. Its arrival will tie in with the Royal Weekend celebrations taking place next weekend in Flin Flon. 'The Royal Weekend Committee is really excited about this,' said the committee's Crystal Kolt. Delighted She said the committee was delighted to have its request for the book to come north honoured. The book will be in Flin Flon just before being shipped to England, Kolt said. Coun. MacKinnon announced new details of the Royal Weekend. Among the confirmed guests are Premier Greg Selinger, MP Niki Ashton and MLA Clarence Pettersen. Former governor general and Manitoba premier Ed Schreyer, along with wife Lily, will also be in town. Coun. MacKinnon said Lily will plant a rose bush at Pioneer Square in honour of the Queen's jubilee. 'I think this is going to be a wonderful weekend for Flin Flon and area,' added the councillor.
