A Pukatawagan man has been charged with second degree murder in the death of his eight-year-old sister over the summer. The man, 20, was arrested last Friday, Sept. 6. The RCMP are not releasing his name in order to protect the identity of the victim. The accused was scheduled to make a court appearance in Winnipeg on Saturday. On June 29, Pukatawagan RCMP received a report of an unresponsive eight-year-old girl at a residence on the northern reserve. The girl was transported to the nursing station, where she was pronounced deceased. Police are not releasing the cause of death at this time.
