Members of the public will be encouraged to voice their input and concerns to the Flin Flon School Division later this year. The division is planning for the end of November a public discussion on its future plans. The date and location have yet to be decided. "The goal will be to share with people the vision of the division and to give people the opportunity to provide feedback and suggestions," said Superintendent of Schools Blaine Veitch. "And if we're going into areas people don't agree with, they can let us know." He sees the meeting as an important step for the division. "I think that once we have a common understanding between staff and the community, that will help us in our goal-setting and planning and trying to accomplish our vision," said Veitch. The division last held a public dialogue of this nature in the mid-1990s, and Veitch recalled that there was "an outstanding response." The general public will be invited, but specific invitations will be sent to community organizations such as the Chamber of Commerce and the City of Flin Flon. The date and location of the meeting will be advertised.
