Manitoba Liberal Party leader Dougald Lamont will be visiting Flin Flon on Feb. 27.
Members of Lamont’s office confirmed Lamont and current Liberal MLA Dr. Jon Gerrard will hold a public event at the Flin Flon Public Library.
Lamont is currently on a trip up western Manitoba, capping things off with a visit to the Trappers’ Festival in The Pas. After heading back to Winnipeg, Lamont will head back north to Flin Flon along with Gerrard, a former MP and party leader.
It will be Lamont’s first visit to Flin Flon since being named his party’s leader in October 2017.
The Flin Flon visit is part of a promise made by Lamont to personally visit all 57 Manitoba constituencies in 2018.
Neither Progressive Conservative leader Brian Pallister or NDP leader Wab Kinew have made official visits to Flin Flon since the 2016 provincial election.
Three Liberal MLAs – Gerrard, Judy Klassen and Cindy Lamoureux – currently sit in Manitoba’s provincial legislature. Flin Flon Liberal candidate Leslie Beck finished third in the 2016 provincial election with 894 votes, 160 fewer than winner Tom Lindsey.
