A Flin Flon man has been charged after police intercepted nearly nine pounds of marijuana on Highway 10 near the community.
This past Monday, Aug. 4, RCMP stopped an SUV driven by the man, 43, and carrying a female passenger, 20, from Winnipegosis.
Police said an investigation led them to discover about 8.5 pounds of pot.
Both occupants of the vehicle, a 2005 Chevrolet Equinox, were arrested for possession for the purpose of trafficking a controlled substance.
The man was released on a recognizance for a future court date, while the woman has been released on a promise to appear for a court date.
No other details were available as Mounties continued their investigation.
