The Canadian Union of Postal Workers began a 24-hour strike at Canada Post's Winnipeg facilities last Thursday night, June 2. Temporary strikes followed in Hamilton and Montreal. "It is business as usual everywhere else in the Canada Post network," the Crown corporation said on its website Monday. Canada Post invites the public to stay abreast of the situation by logging onto its website. As both sides attempt to hammer out a new contract, issues such as raises and starting wages have proven problematic.
