Possible charges are pending against the driver of a police-tape-strewn car parked along the Creighton Freeway over the weekend. Creighton RCMP say the driver is under investigation for Criminal Code and Traffic Safety Act violations. Vehicle theft is not among the alleged crimes. The driver's red car was left abandoned on the Creighton Freeway shortly after midnight last Saturday and was not removed until Monday morning. RCMP had wrapped the car in yellow police tape to signify that they were aware of its presence and there was no need for the public to report it. Police also removed the license plate in case the driver or someone else attempted to drive off with the car. Normally police would have had the vehicle towed on the spot, but a tow truck was not available until Monday morning. The presence of the car sparked Facebook photos and rumours about what happened. No other details were released.
