The Northern Health Region (NHR) wants to hear the public’s view on priorities in medical care.
An online survey has been created by the health region to gauge the public’s opinions on critical health care options. All adults living in areas within the NHR have the opportunity to take the survey until Feb. 28. Links to the survey can be found on the NHR website and on the region’s social media accounts.
The 34-question survey asks participants to rank a series of statements, with options ranging from “slightly important” to “very important,” with an option left for “no opinion.”
The survey is part of public consultation for the NHR’s new declaration of patient values, an action mandated by recent changes in the provincial Regional Health Authorities Amendment Act.
“To help us better understand what our residents value about our health system, the survey was developed and distributed in an effort to gather this information from the public that reside in the Northern Health Region,” said Twyla Storey, communications coordinator for the Northern Health Region.
“By understanding our patients’ values, we can plan for health services that meet their needs.”
Not included in the survey is a section where takers can write comments or raise concerns. Storey advises that people who have concerns with the health region can contact the NHR’s patient experience coordinator or use the contact form on the NHR website.
