The federal and provincial governments are failing to ensure Manitoba has a competitive business climate, in the view of business leaders across the province. A recent survey conducted by Probe Research Inc. found that the majority of 200 Manitoba business leaders polled feel the governments are doing an unsatisfactory job in that regard. Just 39 per cent of respondents felt that Ottawa was doing a "good" or "excellent" job of creating a competitive climate throughout the province while slightly more, 43 per cent, said the same of the Manitoba government. Half of the respondents said they don't believe Manitoba's business climate is competitive with that of other provinces.
