Jonathon Naylor Editor More than 100 residents are calling on city council to approve a new bus shelter at a busy intersection. At their meeting Tuesday, council reviewed a petition in support of a bus shelter to go up near the MTS building at Ross Street and Third Avenue. 'With our freezing cold winters and the wind blowing off Ross Lake up Ross St., (t)he shelter is very much needed at this location,' wrote Bambi Smook, who organized the petition. 'I'm also hoping that the shelter will keep the kids off the icy road and away from the curb.' Smook said more bus shelters are needed throughout Flin Flon but cited the Ross Street-Third Avenue location as particularly important. Council had no comment on the letter, referring it to the Engineering Services Committee for further deliberation. It was not clear when a decision would be made.
