Something exciting is brewing. The Canadian coffee industry's first major machine innovation in more than 40 years has come, and Canada's leading coffee brands, Maxwell House and Nabob, have introduced single-serve coffee pods to drive this new category. Kraft, Canada's leading coffee manufacturer, will perk-up the category by making Maxwell House and Nabob available in this new format. Coffee lovers around the globe are looking to new Single Serve Pod (SSP) machines and single serve pods for easier at-home consumption. This innovation is the biggest in the industry since automatic drip coffee machines. Predicting great consumer interest, the Maxwell House and Nabob pods have been specifically designed to work in most SSP machines to deliver a fresh coffee taste. This advantage allows early adopters and purchasers a choice beyond the brand of coffee affiliated with their SSP system. "On-demand coffee is the beginning of a great new way for consumers to quickly enjoy fresh tasting coffee and Kraft is putting the full weight of its powerhouse brands," says Dino Bianco, Vice President of Coffee Marketing, Kraft Canada. "Coffee pods are only the beginning and you can expect to see a lot more excitement and innovation from Kraft in this category." The new SSP machines, also called single-cup brewing systems, use pressure brewing to force water through the coffee pods, producing a single cup of freshly brewed coffee. Pods are easily inserted and removed, optimizing choice, convenience and quality.
