RCMP have arrested a Pelican Narrows man in connection with the apparent stabbing death of another man on the reserve last month.

Dale Morin, 22, has been charged with second-degree murder in the death of Cecil Dorion, 21.

Mounties responded to a complaint of an injured person at a Pelican Narrows residence on Feb. 12 at 9:42 pm. Police said the victim, Dorion, was suffering from apparent stab wounds.

Dorion was transported to the health centre in Pelican Narrows and was pronounced deceased, police said. Investigators quickly ruled the death suspicious.

Morin appeared in Prince Albert Provincial Court this past Monday, March 7, at which time the matter was adjourned to April 19.

Last month, Creighton RCMP issued a notice that Morin was wanted on multiple charges, but not murder, and may have been in the Flin Flon-Creighton area.

Morin soon turned himself in to Pelican Narrows RCMP on Feb. 19 and was charged with second-degree murder on March 4.
