Parking limits for cabbies as well as a new crosswalk are set for final approval from city council. As early as next week, taxi drivers will face a five-minute parking limit at the cab stand on Main Street in front of the Royal Hotel. There are currently no time limits for taxi drivers parking at this location. Council is also poised to establish a new crosswalk to let pedestrians cross Green Street near the zoo. The crosswalk is to be placed about 12 metres south of Balsam Avenue, where a stretch of Green Street sidewalk abruptly ends. Both changes received initial approval from council last week. Final approval could come as early as Tuesday.
