Rotary Park continues to develop into an even more inviting gathering spot. Work planned before snowfall includes the pouring of a concrete base for the new shade structure. Also, volunteers are putting in place the base for an overhead water sprinkler for the wading pool. The structure will be in the likeness of a large hand water pump and rain down water on children in the pool. And speaking of the pool, it's been sandblasted smooth and will be repainted. Meanwhile, a new chain-link fence runs along the Bellevue Ave. side of the park. This is all part of a $30,000 facelift for the park, which its operators, the Rotary Club, felt had been starting to show its age of nearly 70 years.
