You're invited to a parade tomorrow to help get into the holiday spirit. The Parade of Lights will feature nearly 20, if not more, illuminated vehicles and floats from groups such as the Rotary Club and the Creighton Fire Dept. The parade will begin tomorrow at 6 p.m. at the HBED headquarters near the north end of Main St. It will make its way down Main St. and turn onto Hapnot St. before dispersing on Church St. past the Personal Care Home. Those coming out to watch are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items, which will be collected by Hapnot Collegiate students and donated to the Lord's Bounty Food Bank. Sherry McConnell of the Business Builders Association, the group holding the parade, borrowed the idea from a similar parade she saw years ago in Nipawin. "It was very nice," she recalled. McConnell hopes the Parade of Lights will become an annual event in Flin Flon, calling it a great way to complement the holiday season. Last-minute registrants for the parade are asked to phone Sherry at 687-3839 as soon as possible.
