Over the winter, some snowboarders used wooden pallets to build makeshift ramps near a section of the Flinty's Boardwalk trail. Now the committee overseeing the trail hopes those outdoor enthusiasts will kindly remove the pallets for the summer. A Flinty Committee spokesperson called the pallets "an eyesore" as well as "a hazard" because people have been lighting them on fire. "It would be really nice if the people who took the pallets out there remove them for us, but if they don't, then I guess we have to do it ourselves," said the spokesperson. The spokesperson said the committee doesn't mind the pallets being there in the wintertime but feels they take away from the scenery in the summertime, when a number of people use the trail. The pallets are scattered over a hill, accessible by the Flinty's Boardwalk trail, overlooking Ross Lake. According to the spokesperson, there are about 50 pallets in the area.
