Police Week began in 1970 involving a collaborative effort between the Government of Canada's office of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness Canada (formerly the Solicitor General) and its provincial counterparts. This week begins on May 9 and finishes on May 15, which is recognized internationally as Peace Officer Memorial Day. The Flin Flon RCMP Detachment is going to be holding an open house on May 14, 2004, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. We would like to invite anyone from our community to come down and view our establishment. We will inform you what we do and answer any questions we can. The goal is to forge stronger partnerships between policing services and the community we serve. So please come out and visit your local RCMP detachment.
