One dead, one injured in stabbing, suspect in custody

A 23-year-old woman is facing a second degree murder charge after a death in Flin Flon. RCMP were called to a home on Bellevue Avenue on the morning of May 19 after receiving reports of a disturbance.

A 23-year-old woman is facing a second degree murder charge after a death in Flin Flon.

RCMP were called to a home on Bellevue Avenue on the morning of May 19 after receiving reports of a disturbance. Officers determined an altercation had taken place, which resulted in two people being stabbed.

One of the victims, a 23-year-old woman from Flin Flon, was taken to hospital but later died of her injuries. The second victim found injured at the scene, a 22-year-old woman also from Flin Flon, is in stable condition.

Faith Rose Margaret Linklater, 23, of Flin Flon, faces one count of second-degree murder and one count of attempted murder. Linklater will appear in provincial court in The Pas on May 22.

Members of RCMP Major Crimes Unit and Forensic Identification Services are investigating the incident.

The killing is the first violent death reported in Flin Flon since May 2012.
