Jonathon Naylor Editor Flin Flonners will take part in a global dance with a global goal. One Billion Rising will be held around the world on Feb. 14 in an effort to end all violence against women and girls. This Sunday, Feb. 10, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., residents are invited to learn the chosen dance moves at informal classes at the Elks Hall. Dance instructor Carla Wabick will teach anyone and everyone _ free of charge _ how to dance to 'Break the Chain,' the official anthem of One Billion Rising. Then on Feb. 14, flash dances will take place around the community, culminating with a final 'Rising' at Pioneer Square at 5 :15 p.m. Meanwhile, presentations about One Billion Rising and violence against women are ongoing at local schools. One Billion Rising marks the 15th anniversary of V-Day, a global movement to promote the safety and integrity of women. Women, men, girls and boys are encouraged to take part. For more information, contact the Women's Resource Centre at 204-681-3105.
