Not a scam?

Maybe it's not a scam after all. A discount long-distance provider is denying charges of falsely telling Manitobans it is working with MTS. MTS issued a news release this week warning that Quebec-based Convergia is involved with a telemarketing scam and lying about a partnership with the Manitoba company. But a spokesman for Convergia told the Winnipeg Free Press on Wednesday that the company would never fabricate such a business relationship. "We don't like the suggestion we're operating a scam," Mitch Weinberg told the newspaper. "We really see it as yet another example of Goliath trying to beat up on little David." MTS said it has received several reports from customers stating that Convergia did in fact call them and say there was a partnership.
