Northlands College held its annual Achievement Day with a lunch and awards ceremony at Rocky View BnB last week.
Overlooking Amisk Lake, instructors, board members and college representatives congratulated the students on another successful year.
Perry Brasch won the President’s Award for his determination over the past year.
The award goes to a student who perseveres in his or her studies despite life challenges.
Brasch will graduate from the welding program this year with his attitude and work receiving high praise from Northlands College CEO Toby Greschner.
Greschner told not only Brasch, but also everyone in attendance, how impressed he was upon having lunch with the award winner before the ceremony began.
Brasch was one of about 20 students attending Northlands College this year, and is one of seven who will soon graduate from the welding program.
Following a buffet-style lunch, Greschner, board member Paul Trottier and emcee Jan Lentowicz delivered speeches and congratulations to all the winners and students present.
