Earlier this fall, the longest residing resident at the Northern Lights Manor celebrated her 87th birthday, and also marked 37 years at the care home.

In 1942, Alice Marsollier moved to Flin Flon with her parents, Pierre and Florida Marsollier, and her two sisters.

Marsollier  attended Hudson School on Hiawatha Street and completed a bookkeeping course in The Pas, a career she pursued in both Lloydminster, Alberta, and Flin Flon.

On Oct. 3, 1978, at the age of 50, Marsollier moved into the Northern Lights Manor, where she could access support for health issues.

The newly renovated Northern Lights Manor was officially opened in June 2001, following a $6.6 million improvement project.

Today, Marsollier is the only resident who has lived in both the old and the new manor.
On Sept. 18, Marsollier turned 87 and celebrated the occasion with family and friends.
