COVID-19 appears to be dying off in northern Saskatchewan, while Manitoba has not reported any new cases.
Manitoba reported no new cases of COVID-19 Wednesday, one day after reporting five new cases of the disease. Before the cases were reported July 14, Manitoba had not reported one case of COVID-19 in July.
The five cases reported July 14 were the only active cases remaining in the province. No Manitobans are currently in hospital with the disease.
In Saskatchewan, five new cases of COVID-19 were reported throughout the province, with none reported in northern regions. The cases were found in central Saskatchewan (three cases), Saskatoon (one case) and in southern Saskatchewan (one case).
Eight people in Saskatchewan remain in hospital with the disease, including two people - one in Saskatoon and one at an unidentified southern facility - in intensive care.
Eight active cases remain in the far north and northern regions combined, with six in the far north and two in the north. Only one active case of COVID-19 in La Loche, formerly a hotbed for the disease, is considered active.
