Jonathon Naylor Editor Halloween went spooktacularly smooth in Flin Flon and Creighton, safety officials report. Manitoba Emergency Assistance reported no incidents of vandalism or other wrongdoing during its Oct. 31 vehicular patrols. 'This year was extremely quiet for groups of young people on the streets,' Alen Mymko, MEA president, told city council in a letter they reviewed last week. Seven MEA personnel patrolled local streets from 8 p.m. until almost midnight. They changed patrol locations every half hour so there would be different vehicles in different areas throughout the night. 'The MEA members did not report any incidents this year,' wrote Mymko. As per usual, city council donated to the MEA $150 as well as fuel for four vehicles. Mymko noted the convenience store where the gas was purchased would be submitting a bill to City Hall. The day before the patrols, the MEA exchanged contact information with the Flin Flon RCMP.
