Flin Flon RCMP say there were no injuries Friday afternoon when a vehicle on Main Street "had contact" with a child.

Police said it appeared the child tried to cross the street on his own between two parked vehicles when a southbound vehicle made contact at 2 pm.

No charges are pending and police do not require information from the public.

A passerby told The Reminder the vehicle made contact with the child near the park beside Mugsy's Deli.

At 2:30 Friday afternoon, after the child had left the scene, four RCMP cruisers remained on site, with officers diverting traffic around the section of Main Street between Pioneer Square and RBC.
